How to Configure HubSpot Blog Comments

Here are the steps to set up your HubSpot blog so readers can comment.

Follow these steps to set up your HubSpot blog so readers can comment. 

  1. Log into HubSpot.
  2. Click the settings icon in the main navigation bar.
  3. In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Website > Blog.
  4. Click the Select a blog to modify dropdown menu and select which blog you want to edit. (If you only have one blog, you’ll only see one option).
  5. Click the Comments
  6. Click to toggle the Enable commenting switch ON.
  7. Select the Allow comments to create contacts Only do this if you want visitors who comment on your blog to be added to the contact database.
  8. Select the Moderate comments
  9. Enter a number in the Close comments after this many days field to prevent new comments from being left after a post has been live for this period of time. 
  10. Fill in the Who should receive notifications of new comments on this blog. This will send those contacts a notification whenever a blog comment is posted.
  11. Click the Threaded comments (level) to select the number of levels you want to allow.
  12. Enter a customized thank you message in the Comment form verification text The visitor will see this message after they submit a comment on your blog post.
  13. Click Save.

Remember, by turning on comment moderation, any new comments will not be posted until someone on your team approves them. So make sure you set up the correct person(s) on your team to receive these notifications so you can address comments in a timely manner.
